Shadows in the Void
At one point, Ashcrown was most likely a verdant, living world. If this ever was the case, it was so long ago as to be unimportant. Now, the surface of Ashcrown is a scorched wasteland – irregular pockets of water in the form of dirty lakes and regular soot storms keep the planet relatively inhospitable.
There are two primary reasons colonists stay on Ashcrown:
- Crushing poverty
There is a persistent lack of resources on Ashcrown, leaving most of the inhabitants simply unable to afford to leave
- The Winter Court has its capitol somewhere on Ashcrown, for a reason that remains as unclear as anything the Winter Court does.
