Shadows in the Void
There is known space, and there is the unknown space. The border between the two is known colloquially as the Light’s Edge.
Known space has a radius of nearly 120 billion parsecs.
Expeditions go beyond Light’s Edge now and then, but most don’t return. Those that do or send signals back claim to have seen wondrous and terrible sights. Most people don’t go beyond, or far beyond Light’s Edge because there is still much unexplored territory inside it that is less likely to hold unknown dangers.
