Shadows in the Void
Flares of blue-white light from Pandoris illuminate the system of the same name. This neutron star has a seemingly random rotation, which gives its orbiting field of rubble an eerie, strobing glow. There are not many planet-sized bodies left in the Pandoris system, and those that remain are surrounded by asteroids and wreckage of ancient ships sent here to harvest resources.
Pandoris is a slowly degenerating star which gives off irregular bursts of radiation. Not only does this poison the few even remotely scavengable planets orbiting Pandoris, but it interferes with sensors just enough to make this system an attractive base of operations for those crazy (or desperate) enough to need the privacy it offers.
Recently rumors have started to circulate of weird things happening in the system. Some say there are creatures that live in the space in the system, others talk of monsters coming to life in their hold. No official investigation into the ‘phenomena’ has been made by CPG, official word is that the system should be avoided due to “an unstable and unpredictable star”. The system is marked as dangerous on most modern star charts.
